Who are we?

WebMania is a Tenerife-based Worldwide web design and development company.

Formerly operating under kirstyjay.com, we have recently expanded in order to provide continued quality web design services and deal with our expanding customer base.

Our developers have over 20 years experience designing websites, and many have been based in Tenerife since the late 90's.

Due to our continued presence in Tenerife for over a decade, you are guaranteed a reliable service and a trustworthy company that won't disappear taking your website with it, unlike many other companies in the Tenerife transient tourist-based economy.

Our philosophy is one of quality and customer satisfaction, not purely profit. Any website we design is a reflection on our company, so we treat every client and every project individually. We are not purely sales motivated and do not have extensive advertising campaigns in order to get business. The majority of our clients find us via word of mouth. We believe this is my best marketing tool, as nothing speaks louder about the quality of our work than recommendations.

We constantly evaluate our skills and research the internet for the latest procedures and web design protocols. We continually learn new techniques and when designing a site, we take into account the end user that will be viewing it and design the site accordingly.

We make sure that all our sites are visible to the maximum majority of internet users by making sure sites are correct in all the major browsers and that there is not content that might make the site unavailable to a proportion of potential users or  we offer an alternative if our clients choose to have such content.

We optimize all our sites for the major Search Engines as we build them. We also submit all sites to the right places to make sure they have the best chance of getting into the top rankings. We have an excellent track record for our Search Optimization Services and we don't charge any extra for this service when designing a site.

What do you look for when choosing a design company for your website?

There are a lot of websites and web pages on the internet that are not compatible in all browsers. What this means to you, is although a site may look great in Internet Explorer when you look at it from your computer, it may not work for other people who want to view it using Mozilla Firefox, Opera or any number of the other major browsers that are in general use.

You may also see lots of websites that are designed solely using Flash, which unbeknown to the owner, cannot be viewed by anything from 25% to 35% of the internet community according to the most recent statistics. A good website will have an alternative XHTML site for non-flash users.

Do you want your site to rate high in search engines? If it doesn't, how do you expect people to find your site? Do you have other marketing approaches to bring people to your website and get customers? If not, this is something you need to take into consideration.

These are all things that you need to think about seriously when you're having a website built and when you choose a company to design your site for you, you should make sure you quiz them on their role in building your site and whether they intend to implement all the things we have just mentioned - whether you want us to design it, or someone else! We write our sites using the latest web standards of XHTML and CSS. All sites are W3C compatible, cross-browser friendly, if we use flash, there is also an alternative and websites are optimized for search engines as we go along, so you won't be faced with extra costs to have it done later, when you find it's not reaching the audience you're targeting. If you need dynamic content, we use a combination of php and MySQL, which are renowned as the most stable and web compatible combination on the internet.
